OUR PATHWAY

FlightPath programs are designed to give girls a clear, connected rugby pathway from U13 through U15 and U17, with opportunities to progress into senior women’s rugby.

Each program is tailored to the age, experience and stage of development of the players involved. The focus changes as players progress, from building confidence and core skills at U13, to more advanced technical, tactical, physical and leadership development at U15 and U17.

Across every age group, the priorities remain the same: quality coaching, player welfare, enjoyment, belonging and long-term development.

Whether a player is new to rugby, already competing at club level or working towards representative honours, FlightPath is designed to help her understand the next step and give her the support to take it.

Under 13 Girls

Build confidence. Learn the game. Love rugby.

The U13 programme is designed to give players a positive, supportive introduction to rugby while building the skills, confidence and habits they need to keep progressing. Players of all experience levels are welcome. Whether she is new to the game or already playing club rugby, the focus is on development, enjoyment and creating a strong sense of belonging. We focus on:

  • Core Rugby Skills - Catch and pass, tackling, breakdown, evasion and safe contact, with an emphasis on strong technique and good habits.
  • Positional Exploration - Players are encouraged to experience different positions so they can better understand the game and discover where they enjoy playing.
  • Game Awareness - We introduce communication, decision-making and simple tactical concepts to help players read the game with greater confidence.
  • Team Culture - Enjoyment, respect, belonging and development sit at the centre of the programme.
  • Player Confidence - We create an environment where players feel comfortable learning, making mistakes and challenging themselves.
  • Parent Connection - Regular communication helps families understand the programme, expectations and the pathway ahead.

The aim at U13 is simple: give every player a strong start, help her enjoy rugby and make sure she can clearly see the next step in her journey.

Under 15 Girls

DEVELOP YOUR GAME. UNDERSTAND MORE. TAKE THE NEXT STEP.

The U15 programme is designed to deepen technical skills, improve rugby intelligence and build the habits players need to perform with greater confidence and consistency. As the game becomes faster and more competitive, players are supported to take greater ownership of their development while continuing to strengthen the core skills that underpin everything they do. We focus on:

  • Position-Specific Development - Players begin to develop a stronger understanding of their preferred positions while continuing to build high-quality catch-pass, tackle, breakdown and contact skills.
  • Game Management - We introduce more advanced attacking and defensive structures, set-piece understanding, communication and decision-making under pressure.
  • Physical Development - Players are introduced to age-appropriate strength, conditioning, movement and injury-prevention principles to support safe and sustainable development.
  • Leadership & Accountability - Players are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their preparation, standards, communication and contribution to the squad.
  • Confidence & Resilience - We help players become more comfortable performing in competitive environments, responding to setbacks and continuing to develop under pressure.
  • Individual Development - Players begin to set personal development goals and receive regular feedback to help them understand their strengths, priorities and next steps.

The aim at U15 is to help every player become more technically capable, tactically aware and confident, while preparing her for representative opportunities, higher levels of competition and the transition into U17 rugby.

Under 17 Girls

STEP UP WITH CONFIDENCE. STAY CONNECTED. BE READY.

The transition from junior rugby into the senior women’s game is one of the most important stages in the pathway. FlightPath is designed to make that move gradual, supported and individualised, helping players prepare physically, technically and personally for the demands of senior rugby. We focus on:

  • Individual Transition Planning - Players are supported through a gradual move into senior training and playing loads, based on readiness, development needs and wellbeing.
  • Connected Coaching - U17 and Senior Women’s coaches work together to support continuity, share development priorities and create a smoother handover into the senior programme.
  • Technical Development - Position-specific coaching and core skill development continue throughout the transition, helping players adjust to the increased speed, physicality and decision-making demands of senior rugby.
  • Physical Preparation - Players are supported with strength, conditioning, recovery and injury-prevention principles appropriate to the demands of the adult game.
  • Welfare & Confidence - The transition is managed with player wellbeing at the centre, including confidence, recovery, workload and support through the challenges of stepping into a new environment.
  • Senior Mentoring - Connections with senior players provide guidance, encouragement and a familiar point of contact as players begin integrating into the senior group.
  • Senior Rugby Familiarity - Players are introduced to senior systems, standards, language and expectations so the environment feels familiar before full transition.

The aim is to ensure players do not simply finish junior rugby, but move into senior women’s rugby with confidence, support and a clear understanding of what comes next.
