FlightPath is here to help you become the best rugby player you can be, while enjoying the game, building confidence and feeling part of a team. Our focus is on creating more opportunities for girls to develop, challenge themselves and stay connected to rugby for the long term.
Whether you are new to rugby, already playing club rugby, returning to the game or aiming for representative honours, FlightPath gives you a clear pathway to develop from U13 through U15 and U17, and into senior women’s rugby. Along the way, we will support players with quality coaching, position-specific development, leadership opportunities and preparation for higher levels of competition.
Where appropriate, FlightPath will also help players access broader rugby opportunities, including representative programmes, trials, development squads and interstate competitions. This may include assisting with preparation, identifying suitable opportunities, supporting applications and selections, and helping players and families navigate the practical steps involved in travelling and competing away from Canberra.
Our aim is simple: to make sure talented, committed and enthusiastic girls can see what their next step looks like and have the support around them to take it.

You do not need years of rugby experience to join FlightPath.
Some players will be picking up a rugby ball for the first time. Others may already be playing representative rugby. Both belong here.
Our coaches will work with you at your level and help you take your next step.
Winning matters, but it is not the only thing that matters. We want you to become more confident, more skilled, more resilient and more capable of making good decisions on and off the field. Your development will be considered individually, including your experience, physical development, wellbeing, injuries, school commitments and personal goals.
FlightPath mentoring is designed to give players guidance beyond training and match day. Through coaches, senior players and trusted mentors, we will support you with confidence, leadership, goal setting, representative opportunities and preparing for your next step in rugby. The aim is to make sure you have someone in your corner as you develop both on and off the field.
U13 is about building confidence, enjoying rugby and developing strong foundations. U15 introduces more technical development, position-specific skills, tactical understanding and leadership. U17 prepares players for higher levels of rugby, including advanced coaching, physical preparation, representative opportunities and the transition into senior rugby.
Your safety and wellbeing matter.
FlightPath has clear standards around safeguarding, coaching behaviour, communication, concussion, injury management, travel, media and player welfare. If something does not feel right, we want you to speak up. Players should feel safe, respected and supported at all times.
FlightPath is designed so your rugby journey does not suddenly stop when junior rugby ends. As you approach senior rugby, we will help with introductions to senior coaches, training opportunities, mentoring and preparation for the next level. Uni-Norths Owls is FlightPath’s principal senior pathway, but the final decision about where you play senior rugby remains yours.
We want getting started to be as simple as possible. FlightPath will provide each player with a training T-shirt and training shorts, so you only need to bring the essentials. If you have any questions about the required equipment for rugby, just get in touch.
Boots should be suitable for grass surfaces and provide good grip. Moulded or approved studded boots may be appropriate depending on playing surface, position and player preference. Make sure they fit well and are in good condition.
A properly fitted mouthguard is essential for all contact sessions. Players should bring one to every training session and game.
Bring a clearly labelled water bottle to every session and make sure it is filled before training begins.
If you regularly use strapping, headgear, shoulder protection or other approved protective equipment, please bring it with you.
Canberra conditions can change quickly, particularly during evening sessions. Bring a jumper, tracksuit top or other suitable layers when needed.
You do not need to arrive with a full rugby kit. FlightPath will provide the core training uniform, and we will let players and families know in advance if any additional match-day or competition equipment is required.
